Convert Unix seconds, milliseconds and calendar dates

Convert a timestamp to readable UTC and local dates, or turn a date back into Unix time. Results include the device time zone and actual offset, with separate copy controls for each value. Conversion runs locally; no date or timestamp is uploaded or saved.

Common questions

Is my Unix timestamp in seconds or milliseconds?

For example, 1700000000 seconds and 1700000000000 milliseconds both represent 14 November 2023 at 22:13:20 UTC. Auto estimates the unit by magnitude. Choose Seconds or Milliseconds explicitly for older dates or distant future values.

Which time zone is used when converting a date?

Dates without an offset use the selected UTC or device-local zone. An explicit Z or an offset such as +05:30 takes precedence. Missing local times during a clock change are rejected; a repeated hour uses the earlier occurrence unless you provide an explicit offset.

Can I convert negative or fractional timestamps?

Yes. Zero is 1 January 1970 at 00:00 UTC; negative values represent earlier instants. Seconds can include up to three decimal places, such as -0.001 for one millisecond before the epoch. Milliseconds must be a whole number.
