Common questions
How do I compress multiple images at once?
Choose up to 20 JPG, PNG or WebP images together, keep the default settings or choose Smaller file, then click Compress images. Settings apply to the whole batch. The results show the combined savings and size of completed images; Download all saves a ZIP. A failed image stays visible and does not stop the other files.
Can I add more images after compressing a batch?
Yes. Choose Add images or drop more files into the workspace. Your completed downloads stay available; Compress new images processes only the remaining files. Download all includes every completed image in the current batch. Changing the compression choice or Advanced settings clears the old results so you can apply the new settings to all the original files.
How do I resize images in bulk?
Choose your images, then open Advanced settings and use the Resize images controls. Half size makes each image 50% of its original width and height. The 1200px wide and 1920px wide presets set a maximum width; you can also enter a width, height or both. Images keep their proportions, are never stretched or enlarged, and can have different final dimensions. Click Compress images to apply the resize and download the results together.
How do I compress an image to 100 KB?
Open Advanced settings, choose Target size, enter 100 KB and compress. For JPG and WebP, the tool tries different quality settings. PNG compression keeps the same image quality and has no quality slider. If the target cannot be reached, choose another format or explicitly allow further resizing. A 100 KB limit means 100,000 bytes; the result reports whether it actually fits.
Why did my PNG barely get smaller?
Keeping the PNG format preserves every pixel when dimensions are unchanged, so an already optimized PNG may have little room to shrink. Photos saved as PNG can be much larger than JPG or WebP versions. Try Smaller file to convert to WebP, or choose JPG in Advanced settings for images without transparency. Conversion can lose detail; PNG remains useful for sharp text, screenshots and graphics.
What does Smaller file change?
Smaller file tries WebP at 60% quality and keeps transparency. Dimensions stay the same unless you choose resizing in Advanced settings. It can reduce photo sizes substantially, but colors and fine detail can change. Check that the app or website receiving the image accepts WebP. Savings are not guaranteed: an already small image can become larger. Check the result before downloading, or use Advanced settings to choose JPG or resize instead.
What if my image is already compressed?
With unchanged format, dimensions and orientation, Tulo keeps the smaller of a new JPG/WebP encoding and a copy with location and camera details removed. The result says when it kept existing image data. To reduce the size further, try lower quality or smaller dimensions in Advanced settings. Requested format conversions still apply and can produce a larger file; switching to WebP does not always save space.
Which images and sizes are supported?
Use still JPG, PNG and WebP images: up to 20 files, 20 MB per file and 100 MB per batch. Each image can have up to 50 megapixels and 16,383 pixels per side, including typical 24 MP and 48 MP phone photos. These limits protect browser memory: decoding a photo needs much more memory than its compressed file size. Large photos keep their dimensions by default; for a smaller output, open Advanced settings and choose a resize preset. Animated images, HEIC, AVIF, GIF, SVG and RAW are not supported.
Are my photos uploaded, and will quality change?
Images, filenames and camera metadata are processed locally and are not sent to a compression server or saved by Tulo. Processed files remove location and camera metadata and normalize orientation. JPG and lossy WebP can lose detail; PNG optimization preserves pixels when dimensions are unchanged. This is an 8-bit image workflow, not an HDR or professional color-profile preservation tool.
